Exquisite Royal Crown Derby Imari Reclining Owl Paperweight with Gold Seal Stopper

This is a beautiful decorative handcrafted piece accented in 22K gold with intricate gilding and rich colors. Modelled by Robert Jefferson, designed by Brian Branscombe. One of the first six paperweights (duck, owl, penguin, quail, rabbit, and wren) Royal Crown Derby introduced in 1981 in Derbyshire. Retired in 1992. The gold is flawlessly hand painted as a crowning final enhancement. The base is signed and stamped Royal Crown Derby English Bone China and Silver Stopper marked Royal Crown Derby English Bone China. The stopper can be removed to fill the figurine with sand to serve as a weighted paperweight. The figurine stands appropriately 4” tall. Mint Condition.

Measures: 5 1/2 " long, 3 1/4 wide. Weighs 275 gr.
